The West End Toronto Hepatitis C Support Program was formally developed in 2011 to engage and support persons living with Hep C who were also severely marginalized and potentially actively using substances. We focus particularly on adults and youth who use substances and are homeless, under-housed or street involved in West downtown Toronto neighbourhood. The goal is to provide information and access to resources that would allow clients to make healthier choices for their lives given their Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) status, and if desired and needed, access to HCV treatment.
Using a harm reduction approach we provide services to Hep C positive people to manage and live with HCV by providing health care and health education, information to change behavior and prevent disease progression, access to social supports, increase access to testing, treatment and treatment supports.
We have a weekly Hep C Peer Support group every Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Registration is required to join the group. For more information about the program call (416) 703-8482 ext. 2322.
